Cosplay Portrait In-Person Workshop: A Resounding Success

Our themed in-person gathering brought together the cosplay and imaging communities for an unforgettable day of hands-on learning and creative collaboration. Photographers, models, and lens enthusiasts joined forces to explore how focal length, bokeh control, and high-speed autofocus can elevate character-driven imagery.

  • Martin Wong, a veteran in editorial portraiture, walked attendees through using selective focus on a AF 35mm F1.2 LAB FE aperture to accentuate costume textures and fine facial expressions. Both shared insider tips on manual focus override, zone-focusing techniques, and leveraging lens aberrations as creative tools—right there in our LA studio.
